How I work and Qualifcations
I work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to support you in a way that feels meaningful and effective. At the core of my work is a person-centred approach, offering a warm, grounded, and non-judgemental space where you can feel genuinely heard and understood.
Alongside this, I bring in psychodynamic thinking to explore how past experiences may be shaping your present. Where helpful, I may incorporate approaches such as inner child work, mindfulness, Gestalt techniques, creative methods, and somatic awareness to support a deeper connection between mind and body.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. We will work together to understand what is going on for you, moving at a pace that feels right, and adapting the approach as your needs evolve.
Qualifcations
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, accredited by the BACP. I have additional training in grief and bereavement, with a focus on traumatic bereavement and violent loss, and experience working in play therapy with young children, trained by Place2Be.
I also have a strong background in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Neurodivergence, with training across multiple areas. This enables me to tailor therapy to neurodivergent clients, understanding that many people find talking therapy challenging, and adapt my approach to meet your needs.
In addition, I have experience in the mental health field in the community, delivering talks on mental health and publishing written pieces to raise awareness and understanding.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their ethical framework. I hold enhanced DBS clearance and have full professional liability and public insurance.
Taking the First Step
Finding the right therapist is an important part of your therapy journey, and it’s natural to have questions before getting started.
I offer a free introductory phone call or Zoom meeting, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have, share a little about what has brought you to consider therapy, and get a sense of how I work.
It’s also a chance for us to explore whether we feel like the right fit for one another and whether therapy with me feels right for you. There is no pressure or obligation to continue. I want you to feel comfortable, informed and able to make a decision that feels right for you.
You don't need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out before we speak. Sometimes, taking that first small step is enough.
